Lamacchia Realty opens first Rhode Island office

Lamacchia Realty has opened its first Rhode Island office following the acquisition of Tirrell Realty, a longstanding brokerage based in Riverside, Rhode Island.

The deal marks Lamacchia‘s 11th acquisition in New England over the past two years and expands its footprint in the Providence-area housing market.

Tirrell Realty — formerly affiliated with the Weichert franchise system — has served the greater Providence region, East Bay markets and the south coast of Massachusetts for nearly 20 years.

Founder Phil Tirrell opened the brokerage in 2005 and brings more than 40 years of experience in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts real estate.

“I’m so excited to officially have an office location in Rhode Island,” said Anthony Lamacchia, CEO of Lamacchia Realty. “We have been serving there since 2011, and I am thrilled to now have a location in East Providence. To be expanding in the area with Phil, Delia and their great agents is an honor and I’m looking forward to great success.”

Tirrell will remain in a leadership role at the new East Providence office while continuing to work with buyers and sellers.

The office will operate under the Lamacchia Realty name and all current agents will continue business without interruption, leaders said.

Lamacchia’s acquisition includes 20 agents from Tirrell Realty, including longtime staff members Bill Tirrell, Larry McNulty, Luci Stoddard, Rose Pereira and administrative assistant Delia Correia.

Other agents joining the firm include Abe Sheriff, AJ Costa, Donna Proulx Ainsworth, Doug Caito, Eli Salit, Jeff Searle, Jenna Costa, Jennifer Teeden-Feighery, Joanne Perella, Joe Goncalo, Leah Stoddard, Mary McKenna, Paul Faella, Becky Graham and Stacey Messier.

Lamacchia Realty’s expansion into East Providence follows prior acquisitions in Massachusetts markets including Newburyport, Amesbury, Shrewsbury, Pittsfield, Dalton, Easton, Auburn, Springfield, Falmouth, Fall River and Seekonk.

The company said it plans to continue adding agents in southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the months ahead.
